Continuation from My Book

 Mr. Crespley has scared away Steven. I knew Steven for a long time and I know he doesn't give up easliy. Me and Mr.Crespley are walking out and Madam Octa jumps off Mr.Crespley pocket and runs toward the city. We chase after it and Steven jumps on my me but Mr.Crespley keeps on running after it because he was gonna bite other people and he doesn't have another antidote. I am able to get him off of me. He goes for a stike on my face but i am able to doge it. I tackle him to the floor but he throws mug to my face and kicks my in my stomach. He lifts up the stake but I kick his knee kap and he squats down. When I get up I punch him in the face and he is able to throw a rock at me.
  I get on the floor and he's kicking me over and over. When I turn around he has his stake and goes for my chest. I'm down and no one is in site to help me. When he throws his stake down I take a deep breath and all of a sudden I look at him and he is frozen. I get up but when I let my breath go he was shock because I was there in the position he put me in. I was able to kick him down and I got his stake and I thew it as far as I could. I tired to jog but the my vampire powers gave me more speed so i was quicker. He goes for a bear hug but when he put pressure on me my fangs came out. I bite him on the neck and he falls. When I bit him I felt a werid tingle in my body, but I thought it was nothing because it was my first time and I didn't know how it felt. I let him go and I say to him" You were my best friend but now you are my best enemy". Steven was still alive. I knew it wasn't the end between me nd him this was just the begining. I'm mad because I give up my life to save him but he repays me back with this.
  I walk to the city and Mr.Crespley has Madam Octa. Madam Octa kept on squirming, Mr.Crespley kept on telling me how it was hard for him to get but it got stuck in the mud and he was able to get him. Mr.Crespley goes put Madam Octa in a cage and comes back, he puts it there so it can calm down and won't run away. Mr.Crespley goes on and tries to find a car so we can go back to the show quicker. We are walking out and all of a sudden I fall to my knee's. I fell deep pain in my body. My eyes turn red my veins pop out and this evil power takes over my body and it's not controlable. I stike at Mr.Crespley and he strikes back he has an advantage because he's a full vampire. He get's my in a head lock and see's there's evil in me. I think to myself it was the evilness Steven had. Mr.Crespley takes me back to the city were he had Madam Octa was. It was in a barnyard. He was locked in cage but nest to it was a stick I get the stick and smash it to his head. When I'm going for him again he freezes time and runs behind me and attacks me and I fall. I try to get up but he he hits me on my check.
  The hit put me to sleep. When I wake up I still have the anger rage in body and I try to get out but I'm tied up. He explains how evil can not mix with good. He takes my blood and he could tell the difference from his. My blood should look like his because he gave me half his blood. If your evil your blood is dark red, if it's good it's light red. My blood was deep black red. Mr.Crespley said they evil is eating me and if I dont get it out I would die. Mr.Crespley wanted to beat it out of me but I thought that plan wasn't 100 percent effective. He tired to think of ways but none would work. Every second my body ached. it felt like my organs would jump out my body.
  It's hard for me to talk because the evil takes control. I remember Steven couldn't be a vampire because he was too evil. The reason Madam Octa bite him was because he was too evil. I wondered if Madam Octa was to bite, I;m sure he would heal me. I use my power to break out. The evilness gave me more power. MrCresply goes for the hit but I give him a good punch and he flyies away. I walk to Madam Octa but if evil is too close to it evil repels. So I use all my power to walk over there. I use my last power to open the cage. I grab it and make him bite my neck by sqeezing it.
  Madam Octa drives out my evilness. I fall back to sleep because of the bite. When I wake up I'm all good, my eye are back to crystal blue and my veins are back to normal. I dont feel the evil pain I did before. Mr. Cresply comes to me and bits my neck. He spits out a purple thick liquid. It was the leftover poison from Madam Octa. Mr.Crespley is full vampire so the poison would not efffet him. The bites took everything out of me and it's hard to do stuff. It's hard for me to get up but Mr.Crespely has a car out front he picks me up. Im weak to walk, in the look up at the celeing nd there is alot of dark red web. In order for Madam Octa to realse evil it uses it's web Mr.Crespley puts me in the car and Madam Octa. Mr.Crespley puts the web into a jar for examing. The jar had a werid perple gas in it when I was looking at it in the car. We drive off to the freak show. When we get there, they were packing up to go to the next city. I dash to my house quickly and I got there in 2 minutes. I froze time and I kiss my mother and gave my sister and father a hug. I went back to the theatre and I said to Mr.Crespley " I'm ready let's go".

   Dear Ms.Vallejo,

The reason why you should read Cirque Du Freak is because it's exciting, interesting, and has alot of twist and turns. This book hardly get boring. No one likes a boring book that has alot of text that doesn't give the book any significance. Cirque Du Freak is the complete opposite it's not boring and gives information that effects the story in some typoe of way. If you like Vampire books then this book will be very fun to read. If you want to see how an ordinary boy's life becomes into a twisted nightmare than this is your book.

This book is basically about a teenage boy and his friend that are intrested on going to a freak show called Cirque Du Freak. The boys are interested on going. They have the flyer in class and there teacher looks at the flyer and tells them to don't go. The boys dont listen to him anyway. When one goes get the tickets the teacher is there with the police tell everyone not to go. When he's coming back a car pulls up and gives him two tickets. The boy has to sneak out his house to go see it with his friend. When they go they they see the show a man that is vampire preforms and the boy's friend knows he is vampire because of the person books. One boy like vampire's and the other one like spider. The boy's friend goes see if he can be a vampire but he says no because he is too evil. They go home. The boy goes steals the spider the vampire preformed with. When his friend comes he gets bite by it. He goes back to the vampire to get an antidote but inorder to get it he has to become a vampire and help him n his voyage to defeat other vampire's would he do it to safe his friend?

This book got many twists, for example " Darren, you were my best friend, but now you are my enemy now it's my objective to kill you".  At first they start as friends and now they are enemies who will defeat who? Another example is "Where gonna have to fake your death, just for the safety of you and your parents". They had to fake his death so he can go on far voyages to help the vampire, and he knows his parents won't let him. There are many more things for this book but you are gona have to read it to find out.

This book is very interesting because the choices the charatcers make in the past effect the future. For example, if Darren would have never stoled the spider Steven would have never gotten sick and he would had never became a vampire. This is also a interseting book because there's alot of action. For example, the two friends fight and both want to kill each other and the friend that isn't a vampire has a stake in his hand ready to strike.

Cirque Du Freak is just the begging. If this book leaves you with the question "What is gonna happen next?", you can always read the sequel "The Vampire's Assistant". This book will answer your question

Images Tell A Story

Darren was sitting on a toilet to skip his first period so he can go to recess.


Darren's favorite sport is soccer. He play soccer with his friends in recess and goes to the next period.


When Darren goes to the next period his best friend Darren talks to him about a freak show and invites him to go. It takes place in an abondon theatre.


The teacher grabs the flyer and explains to them that freak shows are bad, and that it's not entertainment. His lecture mad steven and Darren more postive in going.


After the class they round up with two other friends name Alan and Tommy. They talk about the show and they agree on all going. We tell Steven to go get the tickets before school tommarow.After that they go home.


When Darren gets home he gets to dinner with his parents and his sister. They ask him how his day and he said it was boring. His parents had heard something about Steven and they told Darren. Darren said it was true. His parents keep on telling him that he's a bad influence and to hang out with but he goes up to his bedroom and goes to sleep.



When Steven goes to school he see's Tommy and Alan but he doesn't see Steven. He asks them were he's at but they dont know either the bell rings for the students to go to class and Steven hasn't even came.


Steven comes in the middle of 1st period. He tells Darren that he was at the dentist, but had a werid face when he says it. Steven tells Darren that there is a problem, but he would tell them at recess. When the period finish they rounded up Alan and Tommy.


Steven tells them when he went to get the tickets. He saw a big heard outside of the abondon theatre. When he got there it was his teacher and police officers tell people to don't buy the tickets and they couldnt risk it so he ran back.


WHile Steven was running back a man with a black car pull up to him and threw him two tickets to the Freak Show. He picked them but he had a hard decision to pick who was going.


Steven didnt know who to pick so what he did was got stems and gave it each other people and they had to break off a piece and the person with the biggest piece wins. They did it and Darren ended up winning.


Darren parents wouldn't let Darren hang out with Steven in the night, so what Darren did was that he sneak out in the night. Steven was outside waiting for him.They go to the show.


When they get there they get introduced by a man named Mr.Tall. Some how he knows alot about Steven and Darren and gives them a brief explanation about eachother. He escorts them to their seats.

In the preformance they were many werid and sick people. There was one man with two bellys and a skinny man that all youe see it bone. This lady tried to do a trick but mess up and almost chopped off her hand and Mr.Tall helps her. At the end a man named Mr.Crespley comes out and does a preformace with his spider Madam Octa.



Steven remembers Mr.Crepsley from one of his past books and comics. Steven there knew that he was a vampire. Steven loves vampires and Darren loves any spider. When Mr.Crepsley was done with his preformance Steven ran after him to go see if he was qualified to be a vampire or not.



When he goes get test by Mr.Crespley, he says that he can't be a vampire because he's too evil and that the vampire blood won't suit him very well. Steven leaves the theatre with anger and Darren follows.



After several weeks has past from the freak show. Darren decides to steal Madam Octa form the cirqus. He sneaks his way threw and Mr.Crespley went for an airan and he's not there to protect the spider's cage. He remeber that Mr.Crespley says that it's prefectly harmless, Darren gets it and goes home..



Darren spent one or two weeks with the spider. Steven comes for a visit but he doesn't know that Madam Octas was stolen by Darren. Darren decide to tell him and shows him to Steven. Steven holds it and he get's biten by it and has alot of poison. He was taken to the emergancy room.



The doctor's couldn't fnd the cure. Darren decides to go confess to Mr.Crespley and tells him if he has an antidote. Mr.Crespley said he would give him the medication but first he had to be Mr.Crespley assitant. Darren says yes. So Mr.Crespley mixs his blood with Darren to make him half vampire.



Now that Darren's half vampire they both go to give Steven the antidote. They give it him and leave by the time they leave he would be healed. They both went they seperate ways Darren went home and Mr.Crespley went to the freak show. When he gets home Mr.Crespley in his room to get Madam Octa but he vanishes away.


Mr.Crespley knows that Darren's parent wont let him go places with him. So mr.Crespley popps in Darrens room and gives him a potion that makes go to sleep and stop your blood pressure. He throws him out the window and he can't fell anything and his parents think he's dead. Later they throw a funeral and that night Mr.Crespley buried him out, and they left with all thinking Darren's dead.



When there leaving Steven stays hidden from the funeral because he knows there's something going on. He jumps on Darren with a Stake on his chest. Mr.Crespley dashes over there and goes for a strike and scares Steven away. Steven leaves and Mr.Crespley and Steven get going.

Cirque Du Freak

   Sitting on a toilet lid in the boy's bathroom waiting for the period to finish so I can go to nutrition. In nutrtion I always play soccer with my friends. In the other period my best friend Steven shows me a green piece of paper. Looking at the green flyer it says that it's a freak show. Steven and I are Planing to go to it. My teacher sees the flyer and he takes it and he explains to us why freak shows are bad. After his boring lecture on why we shouldn't go made us more confident on going for sure. Steven, Tommy, Alan, and I are planning how to get money for the show. After were done disscussing I go home. I tell my dad and mother about my day.Why bother telling my sister if she doesnt even care what I say. My parents bring up my best friend Steve. My parents have history with him. They think he's a bad influence because he a very big trouble maker and very time he gets introuble he sometimes brings me down with him. I knew Steven ever since I was a kid.
   I wake up and go to school. I see Alan and Tommy but no Steven. I walk up to them and they have no idea were he is. So we are guessing he doesnt have our tickets. Have way throught school Steven comes to school and he tells me he was at the dentist. During Recess Steven tells me that he went to go buy the tickets but Mr. Dalton my teacher that took the flyer was there with police men trying to stop the event. They try to catch one guy but he magicaly disapeared. Steve was about to leave but this guy was in a car and pulled up on Steve and gave him only to tickets. For them to decide who goes they made a game and I won. Steven automaticaly gets one because he want to get it.
   The show was on a Saturday night. I was hard to get away from my parents and they would get furious if they knew I was going out with Steven, so what I did was that I sneaked out. The show took place in a abandon theatre and they went. The show was called Cirque Du Freak. When then we go in we see a tall named Mr.Tall. Mr.Tall was the owner of Cirque Du Freak. Mr.Tall already knew alot of information about both Steven and I. We go in the show and we have fun. During the show a woman almost lost her hand but Mr.Tall saved her. There is also there is a guy with two bellys that evours anything. In the show there was a wolf man and a lady that can grow her bread at will. She can grow it very long that it can fill up the whole floor within seconds. There was also a guy who is very skinny that u can see all of his bones. Skin was just a little thin layer then was his skeleton. At one point of the show A man named Mr.Crepsley preforms with his teranchula Madam Octa. He tells us that the spider is very harmless. Steve reconizes Mr.Crepsley from one of his books. Steven really loves vampires, he reads all the vampire books he lay his hands on. I love spiders, i think there really cool and I like them all. Steve comfronts Mr.Crepsley and Steve soon finds out that he's a vampire. Steven wanted to be a vampire two so he asks Mr.Crepsley if he's vamire material. He tests him but he says he's not because he's evil.
   A week after the show, I remeber that Madam Octa spider and I really wanted it. So I left to go get it. When I get there I sneak my way throught Mr.Crepsley's room to go get it. I put it in my pocket and I left alittle note saying I took it. I leave back home. I had the spider for a while and Steve came to my house to vist. I think really hard if I should show the spider to him or should I keep it a secret. I know he wouldn't say anything so I show him the spider and I tell him I stoled it. I let Steve hold the spider, I told him that he's harmless. Out of no where the spider bites Steve with poison. I yell out out and my parents take him to emergency room. In the emergency room they tell me that he;s in a comma. I came back home and I saw Mr.Crepsley in my room with the Madam Octa. It was werid because he just looked at me and he smiled and left. I really want Steven to get better and I think this was all my fault. So I go back to Cirque Du Freak to tell Mr.Crepsley if he has an antidote for the poison. When I go to his room and I found him I ask him if he has an antidote for the poison. He said yes but he would give it to me easy. In return I had to be a vampire to help him. At first I say no but then I think about Steven and it was my fault he's in the hospital so I say yes. By being a vampire he mixed his blood with mine. So I became a half vampire. Full vampires can fly but I can only run fast. Mr.Crespley said that 5 human years equals 1 year in vampire, So it's gonna take me a while to age.
    After I become a vampire, Mr.Crespley and I make our way to the hospital to go give Steven the antidote. Mr.Crepsley gives Steven the antidote and he becomes better in a while. Steven starts going to school. I go home and Mr.Crepsley go back to the Cirque Du Freak. WhenI get home I go to my room and see Mr.Crespley there, Mr.Crepsley tells me that I have to fake my death in order for me to go places and help out Mr.Crespley on his vampire stuff and puts me a sleep. I dont want to go with it first but then I did make a deal with him. After I told him ok, he took out a potion that that makes me all stiff and I can fell anything.  So he threw me out the window and yelled help a couple times to get peoples attention so he vaniches away. My parents come out and take me to the emergency room but the doctor pronounce me dead.
   My parent throw a funeral for me. When I'm in my casket I wake up and I have a suit on. I fall asleep and I get waked up later by Mr.Crespley and he buries me out. Meanwhile I'm loosening up Mr.Crespley is burring my grave back. When I'm walking around I got jumped on by Steven with a stak and he tries to kill me but Mr.Chrespley comes and scares Steven and he tells us that when he grows up he's gonna kill me. When we get to Mr.Chresply's he just tells me "you ready, let go". (Words 1,237)

Darren Shan

The author of the book"Cirque Du Freak" is Darren Shan. Darren Shan was born in 1972 at Saint Tomas Hospital in London. At the age of three he started at English Marty's. Later on in his life he moved to Ireland with his mother,father and younger brother, and he never moved ever since. His first success was at the age of 15 when he was a runner up on a T.V script writing competition for R.T.E in Ireland. He received  primary education  in Askeaton and secondary education was in Copsewood College.
Darren Shan is well known for his vampire books. Before the writing buisness he worked in a cable company in Limerick. When Shan was 14 years old he bought his first ever type writer and started to write short stories, comic strips, and books. Shan made his first book a called Ayuamarca, his first book didn't sell very well. Later on he made a sequel to his first book called Hell's Horizon, that book sold fewer than the first one. His first successful book was Cirque Du Freak.

Cirque Du Freak won a lot of awards some famous awards are the Wyoming Soaring Eagle, the Sheffield Chilldren Award, Children Choice Award, etc. Cirque Du Freak is the push off for the Vampire's Blood Trilogy. The sequel to Cirque Du Freak is the Vapire's Assitant. They had now made a movie about Cirque Du Freak. Darren Shan many alot more books relating to Cirque Du Freak and other trilogies.

Shan is still continuing his carrer on make more books. The topic of them are most likely gonna be about vampires. Shan's first ever published book was at the age of 17. Shan might end his his whole trilogy with "Sons of Destiny. Shan has a website called www.darrenshan.com. The website is about recent updates about Shan and his books, also the realse dates of his new books. Shan came up with the idea of Cirque Du Freak on May 8,1997.

5 test taking strageties

1.  Stay relax for the whole testing period
2. Do the easy questions first then come back for the harder ones
3. Do hesitate if someone finishes before you
4. Read the question multiple times to clearify what the question trying to tell you
5. Make educated guesses if you do not know the answer to the question

2 paragraphs for Cst Prep

For me to prepare for the California Standardized Test I would pay really close attention to the activities and review work that my teacher gives or tells me to do. The standards on the CST can be found in old tests and quizes that I have done in the past. Looking over my past work would give me the main ideas for that specific subject. Covering the same topic over and over would be best for me not forgetting. I would focus on alittle more on math because it's hard and I have geometery and kinda harder. Doing review problems and looking over exit slips would help me more. Looking over my cornell notes would help alot because they have alot of information and it makes it easier to understand the topic. By not missing a day at school is also preparing me for the CST because I can use two hours for a month or so to review.

Doing exercises like making flash cards, study buddy cards, booklets, etc. would help me remember more about the concept. Just going to bed early before the CST would help me be energized for the test. Also eating something in  the moring would help me be more energized. Also, doing problems from the benchmarks would help me understand more whats gonna be in test. Also doing recent problems from the past CST from last year to see what questions are gonna be in this one. Testing another student is also good way to prepare. I think it's good way because your getting other peoples opinion to make up a answer that is right.

Blacks were punished and it showed

There labor work got cut off by using the cotton gin

Whites did everything so there full of sin

Aboltionist hated slavery

I would play my Playstation 2 24/7

If I had died at a young age I would want a Playstation 2 in heaven

I was addicted, people recommended that I should see a doctor or a reveran

On the weekends I would play in the moring to the night around 11

I stared at the T.V. too much I thought I need eye medication

Instead of family reunions it would be Playstation

If any one would ever want to find me they knew I would be at my playstation station

I would play when it's sunny and when there was precipitation

When ever I would smell fire I would think it's my T.V.

I would always play W.W.E

I would always think of stragedy's in my dreams

I would be so attached to my Playstation I thought we had some common genes

My PS2 controller is what I would catched

I hated it when my games when they were scratched

Evertime I saw the controll by it's self I would always snatch

When it comes to PS2  I would always challange anyone to a match

I would get money to buy games

I would never buy racing games because they were lame

Every game I liked, I tryed my best to contain

Instead of a wire to my controller it would be a chain

I was playing playing at the age of 10 but now I'm 14

The last thing I would do with my PS2 is lenting

With my games I would have renting

If I see someone that needs to have it then I'll be senting

My PS2 still rocks

I have moved on to an X-box

I would play it so much it would hurt my kindey

It's not just an X-box it's an X-box 360

That old PS2 is now a black box that is nothing

When I was ten it was everything

Now what I do with my PS2 things is collecting

My mom wants to give it away or throw it away but I'm still defending

Anne Frank-Stage Adaptation

The Diary of Anne Frank is taken place in Amsterdam,Holland. On Anne's birthday she recieves a diary, by her father. The Franks and Vann Danns go into hiding becuase of the holocaust. Mr.Kraler and Miep help them with food and supplies. In the Frank family there is Mr and Mrs Frank and Anne. In the Vann Dann family there is Mr and Mrs Vann Dann and there son Peter. Meip supplies Anne and Peter with books so they can keep up with there education. Mr.Kraler and Miep are not jewish. They are not yet adapted to the attic because they think the war will finish real quick. Mr.Frank owns a store but is closed down because of the war. Mrs.Frank likes Mr.Vann Dann meanwhile she is married to Mr.Frank. Anne does not have a really good relationship with her mother. Mrs.Frank would try to have a conversation with Anne but Anne wouldn't pay attention. They stay in the attic for some months. Mr.Kraler squeezes another person in the attic with them. It's a man named Dussel witch is a jewish dentist. They welcome him by drinking alcohol. When he comes they rearrange there bedroom postions. They put Dussel in the same room as Anne but she doesn't like him at first but then she gets use to him. Dussel informs everyone about the concentration camps and how bad the war had gotten ever since they miss out. Mr.Kraler yet tells them that everything is gonna turn out great. It's Hanukkuh and Mr.Frank lights up the candles and everyone sings, but they look at Dussel because he's not singing. Even though he's jewish he doesn't celebrate jewish holidays. Later on Peter has a cat called moushiki, which he loved alot. His dad had to let him go because Peter would give it the food they eat and there just wasting it. Everytime Miep comes he asks her if she had seen it. Time passes by and Peter and Anne fall in love with each other. they have gotten to know each other more and after awhile they saw each other atractive. A man named Carl, who works in an office by Mr.Kraler,blackmails Mr.Kraler because he was robber that robbed the house there hiding in and he founded out the secert passage way to the attic. The economy has very little money so Mr.Kraler has to pay him 20 guilders to keep his mouth shut.The man Miep gets food from for the Franks and Vann Danns got arested so there food supply is short. They would recieve less food then they usally do. Everyday they see there food shrinking. Mr.Frank one night catches Mr.Vann Dann stealing food . They get into and arguement but resovles to nothing. They think Miep is dead because they havent heard from her in a while. Mr.Kraler is in deep shock but yet turns out that she had been somewhere. Mr.Kraler, Mr.Vann Dann,and Mr.Frank got get food up north and when they come back they see soliders around there house. Carl had told the soliders that they were hiding.They were tooken to an concentration camp.Anne dies do to a diease, meanwhile in the concentration camps.

Look and Learn



Hitler told Germans that it was jews fault why they lost world war 1. It was his idea of the Holocaust and to exterminatwe the jewish race.



Jews were placed into concentration camps to be exterminated. This was the final solution for the holocaust.

The green police were people who would find jews and take them to concentration camps.



Germany was in an economic depression and they were bankrupt, because of the loss of World War 1.

 

Germany lost world war 1 which lead to the econmic depression. This was one of the main reasons why the holocaust
happened.

Jews were put into ghettos to dehumanize them.



Many jews kept journals to write down how life was for them in the holocaust.

Jews were put in gas chambers to be killed. This made there extinction more rapid.

Germans soliders wore this to indicate if they were german soliders.





Jews wear stars like this to see if they were jewish or not. They were force to wear it, it would be easy to see who is who.

 

Historical Context

• Germany lost World War 1. Germany was toren up after the war.
• There was an economic depression in Germany after there lost. They were bankrupt and not that much jobs. Germany couldn't get on it's feet.
• Hitler stated that it was the jewish fault on why they lost world war 1. Germans wanted someone to blame. They choosed the jewish and they wanted to get "revenge".
• Hitler got it through everyones head that it was the Jews fualt and that they needed to get exterminated. Hitler wanted to get rid of them quickly. He thought that jews had brought shame to Germany
• Hitler got power over all his rants against the jews. Hitler was making a regime that would help him get rid of jews. Hitler was soon to be a nationalist.
• The Holocaust was the event that was the killing of jews, to exterminate them. They would put jews in concentration camps to work in labor or get killed. Some jews went to ghettos to get dehumanized.
• Jews had to wear yellow stars on there clothing to indicate if they were jewish or not. It would be easier for soliders totake them to concentration camps with having to go through there profile. Soldiers know who to keeps eyes on.

• Non jews would help jews escape or hide, Non-jews were rebeling from Hitlers desicions. Some Germans didn't want to be in the postion they wanted to but they thought they had to.
• The green police were people who would capture Jews and would take them to concetration camps
• German soliders would be patroling around the area to see for any suspicous activity. If they heard anything weird they would go check it out. They couldn't take any risks.
• Jews were put into concetration camps. German soliders would put jews in gas chamber sto kill them in large amounts. They would also burn them alive.
• Many jews were killed but some survived.. Jews were killed in big amounts but some survived when american soliders came to help.
